Akwa Ibom State Government has urged the press and Civil Liberty Organisations to sensitise the citizenry on the 2021 proposed Budget to enable them understand Government's agenda as well as send their contributions for the budgetary processes. The Commissioner for Finance, Mr Linus Nkan stated this when he held a Press Briefing in Uyo to further interact with the press and other sections of the public on the Governor's presentation of the 2021 Proposed Budget to the State House of Assembly.Mr Nkan noted that in line with Citizenship Budget, citizens are expected to understand Government Budget estimates and also contribute to the passage of budgets by giving feedbacks on their developmental needs.
...e said that the 2021 proposed Budget christened 'Budget of Economic Reconstruction' with an outlay of N435,652 billion aims at actualising the Completion Agenda of the Governor Udom Emmanuel's administration. Furthermore, Mr Nkan gave the objectives of 2021 Budget to include rapid industrialisation, education as a key component of human capital development, training of civil servants, intensification of investments in health care delivery, infrastructural renaissance, realisation of Ibom Deep Seaport Project among others. The finance boss noted that with the implementation of these projects, the socio-econo mic life of the people will be adequately advanced.While interacting with the press, Mr Nkan stated that in the 2021 proposed Budget, priority is given to the economic sector considering the multiplier effects of this investment on the Social Services Sector in terms of economic growth, employment generation and wealth creation....
